Hello. I am Christine Chang Hanway—artist, architect, and writer. My creative practice is spiritual, a deliberate cultivation of magic and wonder that I try to weave into all aspects of my life, honouring the belief that we are all part of something infinitely greater.

I am interested in exploring worlds just beyond the immediate realm of the physical; where we hold our memories and our stories. While the architect in me is drawn to the built sacred space, the artist and writer want to examine and understand our precious inner soul space.

In the studio, my current exploration centers on diaspora and identity, tracing the intricate threads of heritage and family history. I am a multimedia artist who embraces any medium that serves my narrative—each story demands its own voice, its own material truth.

My creative process unfolds through patient cycles of gathering, researching, and deep reflection. Yet once clarity emerges—once I understand both the what and the how—I am seized by an urgent need to manifest my vision. Perhaps, this is why I have a great affinity for transparent water-based media because flow, layers and accidental happenings are what transport me quickest to other realms.

Unless otherwise noted, all images are by me.
